After having purchased the vacuum from Target, we decided to skip the interior tests, and go right to using the vacuum on our car. After all, that's what the vacuum was designed for. We made extensive use out of the flexi-crevice tool and car turbine head. The stiff bristle brush added to the effectiveness of these tools. I don't think I've ever seen my car look so clean. And perhaps most importantly, the flexi-crevice tool was small and flexible enough to get into spaces never previously cleaned. Being one of those people who likes a clean car, I was always bothered by all the dirt and junk I couldn't actually see (or previously get to). Now, with this flexi-crevice tool, I can do just that. Plus, the upholstery looked great after going over it with the car turbine head. It sucks up dust and hair off your car upholstery like you wouldn't believe. The bottom line is that this vacuum is simply great for cars. The extra tools backed by dyson power gets the job done.
When we brought the vacuum inside, it did just as well on regular carpeting and hard floors. Without the extra car tools, it is basically the All Floors model, entirely capable of cleaning both carpet and hard flooring to an impressive degree. The extra suction power of the DC14 line was quite apparent.
The dyson DC14 Drive vacuum does surprisingly well cleaning furniture as well. We were able to get quite a bit of pet hair off the couch using the same tools we used in the car. It wasn't quite as effective as the Animal models, but it did a good job.
The DC14 Drive is certainly one of the finest dyson vacuums we have yet tested. It doesn't have every attachment you could want, but the
car turbine head and flexi-crevice tool are very useful extras. It's an especially good vacuum for cleaning out cars. If you're one of those people who need a completely spotless car, then this is probably the vacuum for you. The best thing about it is that you can turn around, bring it inside, and do just as good a job cleaning the inside of your home.
