Review of the Dyson DC14 Complete cont.

We took quite a lot of time testing this most expensive DC14 vacuum on a variety of surfaces. We also tested all four add-on tools that come with the vacuum. In all fairness, we have seen all but one of these additional tools before (all except the dusting tool), but we tested each again to give this vacuum model a complete review.
First, the vacuum did as well as expected on the carpeting and hardwood flooring. Now that we've taken a look at all DC14 models, it's pretty safe to say that there really is little difference between the base vacuums.
The suction power is simply amazing, no matter whether you are on carpeted or hard flooring. You can expect the DC14 to remove nearly all the dust and debris on your floor without a problem. The DC14 Complete is certainly no exception, and we were happy to see it do just as good as the other DC14 models before it.
The DC14 Complete Floor Tool
We used the mini turbine head to clean the sofa and padded chairs, just as we did with the DC14 Animal. We've said it before, but the mini turbine head really does an impressive job at cleaning up unwanted pet hair. Most other vacuums leave at least some pet hair behind, but the DC14 complete with the mini turbine head cleans nearly all fur and hair off of flat surfaces. For those cracks between your sofa cushions, you can use the vacuum's mattress cleaning tool, which is pretty good at getting into tight spaces (not quite as good as the flexi crevice tool though).
The dust is only available on the DC14 Complete, so we were a little anxious to try it out. It's a lot like many other dusting tools found on other vacuums. It would not be all that remarkable if it wasn't for the outstanding dyson suction power, which lifts dust easily from all types of surfaces. The fact that the tool is long and skinny allows you to get in between items situated on your furniture so that there is no need to move heavy objects.
The DC14 Complete is just what its name implies: complete. It has almost every add-on tool you need to leave your home dust free. We only wish the device came with a flexi crevice tool as well, so we could use it like the DC14 Drive to clean out our car. It can still be used for that purpose, of course, as the mini turbine head and mattress tool can almost make-up for the absence of this tool. Overall, if you have the money to purchase this vacuum it comes well recommended.
